I just finished reading the howies summer catalog cover to cover. This is a small English clothing brand kind of like a surfing J. Peterman. Anyway, they have this cool free book exchange based on trust:
"Just like we do every year, we offer the books that are on our bookshelves to customers to borrow and read ... you can borrow any book from our library and we trust you to send it back. Of all the books we have sent out, only a small handful never made it back. Trust works. To borrow a book just email us at brainfood@howies.co.uk"
The list includes everything from Ben & Jerry's Double Dip to The Meaning of Lost & Mismatched Socks.
How refreshing to trust your consumers enough to lend them books?
